Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Thinkr when you use the site and the app.

These terms are the agreement between you and the team that runs Thinkr. In these terms, "Thinkr" means the site at thinkr.sh, the chat app at chat.thinkr.sh, the API at api.thinkr.sh, and the services behind them. "We" and "us" mean the team that runs Thinkr. "You" means anyone who uses Thinkr.

By using Thinkr, you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use Thinkr.

Who can use Thinkr

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • You must be able to form a binding contract where you live.
  • You may not use Thinkr where the law forbids it, or if sanctions bar you from it.

What Thinkr is

Thinkr lets you chat with AI models that other companies make and run.

  • The private lane runs open-weight models inside trusted execution environments (TEEs). Your device verifies the enclave's remote attestation, then encrypts your messages to it. How privacy works explains how.
  • The open lane runs other models through OpenRouter, such as Claude, GPT, Gemini, and Grok, and the models that make images and videos. The provider of the model reads your messages to answer them. Under zero data retention (ZDR), the provider of a model marked ZDR promises to keep nothing. The provider of a model marked Open may keep your request for a while.
  • The app shows the lane of each model, and who can read a chat with it.
  • A feature marked "Soon" is not available yet, and we do not promise when it will be.
  • We may add, change, or remove models and features at any time. A model can be slow, or unavailable for a while.

The free trial

You can try Thinkr with no account. The app shows the limits of the free trial. When the trial budget of a day runs out, a lane can pause for everyone until 00:00 UTC. We may change or end the free trial at any time.

Free chats for holders

If a wallet holds the amount of THKR that Token names, you can chat free in Private mode, up to a limit each day. To turn this on, you send a small amount of THKR from that wallet, and a contract burns it. Burned THKR does not come back. When the budget of a day runs out, free chats can pause for everyone until 00:00 UTC. We may change the amount, the limit, or the models, or end free chats, at any time. A free chat is not a right that comes with THKR.

Your chats and your device

  • The app saves your chats, images, and videos in your browser, on your device, and does not encrypt them there. Keep your device and your browser profile safe.
  • Unless you turn on backup, we never receive your saved chats, so we cannot restore them. A backup holds only the text of your chats, your credit, and your API keys. If you clear the data of your browser or lose your device, everything else that the app saved is gone.
  • If you switch a chat to a model of the open lane, the app sends the earlier messages of that chat to that model.

Your content

  • What you send (your input) and what a model answers (output) are yours, as far as the law allows.
  • You give us only the right to carry your input to the model you pick, and the output back to you.
  • We do not use your input or output to train models.
  • You must have the right to send what you send.
  • A model can give you an output that is the same as, or similar to, what it gives others. You get no rights to the output of other users.

Rules for using Thinkr

You must not use Thinkr to:

  • break the law, or help someone else break it;
  • create, request, or share sexual content that involves a minor;
  • create sexual content about a real person without their consent;
  • threaten, harass, defraud, or impersonate anyone;
  • help make weapons that can cause mass harm, such as biological, chemical, or nuclear weapons;
  • write malware, or attack, probe, or overload Thinkr or any other system;
  • get around a limit of Thinkr, such as the limits of the free trial, or a safety measure of a model;
  • share, sell, or resell your access to Thinkr;
  • copy Thinkr by automated means, or use it to build a competing service.

In the open lane, also follow the usage policy of the maker of the model you pick.

We cannot read what you send in the private lane, so you alone are responsible for it. If we have good reason to believe that you broke these rules, we may limit, suspend, or end your access.

Answers from AI models

  • A model can be wrong. An answer can be false, incomplete, out of date, or offensive, even when it sounds sure.
  • An answer is not professional advice. It is not medical, legal, financial, or tax advice. Ask a qualified person to verify an important answer.
  • Do not use an answer as the only basis for a decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect on a person.
  • Thinkr is not for emergencies. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
  • You are responsible for how you use an answer.

Credit and payments

Credit pays for chats beyond the free trial. When you buy credit, these terms apply:

  • The prices are on Pricing. A chat costs credit at the price shown for its model.
  • If a model fails before it answers, the chat costs nothing. An answer that starts and then breaks off can still cost credit.
  • You buy credit with USDG or THKR on Robinhood Chain, or with Monero or Zcash. Send only the coin that the app or the dashboard names, only on its own network, and only to the address that it shows. A payment sent any other way can be lost for good.
  • A top-up in Monero or Zcash has an address of its own. Whatever you send to it becomes credit, to the nearest cent, at the price that the app shows. A payment that we first see more than 30 minutes after the time that the app shows counts at the price of when we see it. We watch an address for 30 days after that time, and a payment after that can be lost for good.
  • A top-up in USDG in the app has an address of its own too. Whatever you send to it on Robinhood Chain becomes credit, to the nearest cent, at $1 for each USDG. We watch an address for 30 days after the time that the app shows, and a payment after that can be lost for good.
  • A payment on a blockchain is final. We cannot reverse it. You pay the network fees.
  • Your credit comes as notes that the app keeps in your browser. Whoever holds a note can spend it. We cannot see who holds a note, so we cannot restore a note or a balance that your browser loses.
  • Credit has no cash value, and you cannot exchange it for money.
  • We give no refunds, for a payment or for unused credit, except where the law requires a refund.
  • We may change our prices. A new price applies only to chats after the change.
  • You are responsible for any tax on your purchase.

The API

The API at api.thinkr.sh lets your own code call the models of the private lane and the models of text of the open lane. These terms apply to each call, with these additions:

  • For a model of the private lane, the API takes only chats that your machine encrypted, with the SDK of Thinkr or its local bridge. It refuses any other chat with those models.
  • For a model of the open lane, the API takes each chat as plain JSON. The chat runs to its end even if your connection closes, and its key pays for the whole answer.
  • An API key holds its own credit, which moves from your balance when you create the key or add credit to it. A key can spend only what it holds, at the prices on Pricing.
  • Whoever holds a key can spend its credit, so keep it secret. We keep only a hash of a key, so we cannot show it to you or restore it.
  • Closing a key stops it for good and returns the credit left on it to your balance.
  • We limit how many calls you can send each minute, and we may change that limit.

The token

The site describes the Thinkr token, which has not launched, and its planned uses on Thinkr. Nothing on Thinkr is an offer to sell a token or a request to buy one. Nothing on Thinkr is financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. If the token launches, separate terms may apply to it.

Our rights

Thinkr, its design, its name, and its logo belong to us or to our licensors. These terms give you no right to them, except the right to use Thinkr as these terms allow. Parts of Thinkr are open source, and their own licenses apply to those parts.

If you send us an idea or feedback, we may use it freely, with no duty to you.

Other services

Thinkr relies on services of other companies, such as the makers and the providers of the models, blockchains, wallets, and WalletConnect. We are not responsible for those services. Their own terms apply when you use them.

Ending your use

  • You can stop using Thinkr at any time. To delete what the app stored, clear the site data of chat.thinkr.sh in your browser.
  • We may limit, suspend, or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect Thinkr or its users.
  • We may stop offering Thinkr. If we do, we will give notice on the site first.
  • The sections on your content, our rights, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, and disputes stay in force after your use ends.

Disclaimers

Thinkr is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that Thinkr will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors, or that any answer will be correct.

Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill;
  • our total liability for all claims about Thinkr is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50.

Some places do not allow these limits. There, they apply only as far as the law allows.

Indemnity

If your use of Thinkr breaks these terms or the law, and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you will cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim. This applies as far as the law allows.

Disputes

If you have a problem with Thinkr, write to [email protected] first. We will try to solve it with you within 30 days. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away the rights that the law of the country where you live gives you.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new date. Before a material change takes effect, we will give notice on the site. If you keep using Thinkr after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.

General terms

  • These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Thinkr.
  • If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
  • If we do not enforce a right, we do not give it up.
  • You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours, for example to a company that takes over Thinkr.
  • We are not liable for a delay or a failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
